Hearn's residence at Ôkubo

monument Lafcadio Hearn left Ichigaya-Tomihisa-chô and moved here in 1902.
In 1903 he quit the Imperial University and began to teach at Waseda University on the year next. Fortunately, the place is very closer to Waseda than the Imperial University.
In 1904, Hearn passed away here in the house. The house no longer exists and only a monument remains.
